Make your own copper and silver earrings – a fun and friendly beginners’ workshop
This is a relaxed and hands-on workshop in Lincolnshire where you’ll create your own unique pair of copper and silver earrings from scratch. This beginner-friendly class is a great introduction to the world of jewellery making – no experience needed.
You’ll learn how to:
- Transfer your chosen design onto sheet silver
- Cut out (pierce) and shape your pieces using traditional tools
- Apply texture using hammers and stamps
- Form gentle curves or domes for added dimension
- And the exciting part – solder your pieces to make some actual wearable jewellery!
The class includes plenty of copper sheet, silver wire to embellish one pair of earrings and silver earwires or posts.
Workshops are small and supportive, so there’s plenty of time for individual guidance. Whether you’re looking to try something new or just want to spend a few creative hours making something beautiful, you’ll leave with a unique piece of jewellery and some serious jewellery-making skills. All tools and materials provided – just bring your enthusiasm and a few other things….
What do I need to bring?
- Appropriate clothing – wear something you don’t mind getting a little dirty, and avoid loose clothing, eg wide sleeves or scarves
- Wear closed toed shoes, especially as we’ll be soldering
- Hair tie – if you have long hair, it must be tied back
- Notebook/sketchpad – to make a record of what you learn
